Electric Kilns for Ceramics
SAT. June 21, 10am-2pm
Learn how to choose a kiln to buy, including electrical requirements. Calculating firing costs, shelves, posts and the loading and firing of kilns will be discussed, as will maintenance, repair and troubleshooting.
$35 or $25 if CASD Member, payment confirms space, 12 people max.



Water Carving and other Surface Treatments
SAT. July 19, 10am-2pm
Create relief and introduce depth to surfaces with the water carving technique. Hands on workshop will also work on resists, slips and engobes, sgraffito and other surface techniques. Bring 3 bone dry pieces to work on.
$50 or $40 if CASD Member, payment confirms space, 12 people max.




Raku in Action
SAT. Aug. 16, 9am-3pm 10 people max.
Bring 3 small to medium sized bisqued pieces, and get ready to talk kilns, fuels, clays, glazes and reduction techniques as we glaze our pots, place and remove from kilns, and reduce for unique effects. Protective clothing, shoes required. $75 or $65 if CASD Member, $25 deposit, refundable to 1 week prior.
BRING A SNACK TO SHARE, Natural fibered long sleeves and pants required.
